Our Own Repair and Manufacturing Workshop in Lumut

Acquired in 2003, this 27 acres manufacturing plant owned by IMPSA Malaysia is utilized by CGS for repairs, refurbishments and fabrication works of crane parts that required to be done outside clients’ premises. Presently, the plant has around 100 people working, could be allocated for CGS works should more manpower is required for bigger projects.

Since year 2011, lean manufacturing activities are made compulsory in the plant such as shop floor management meeting, Kaizen, visual management, production KPI, Seven wastages elimination and total productive maintenance. The material and inventories are controlled using the SAP system.

Several expansion plans such as purchasing new machines and adding another workshop for blasting and painting activities are to be taken at the plant in order to increase efficiency and maintain effectiveness of the services.
